- Specialized courses: The CoE will set up a Finishing School for students to address the skill gaps with Industry. The Finishing school will be conducted at various location across Karnataka in partnership with an academic institute who will act as hosting partner by providing classroom, laboratories with computers, lodging and boarding facilities for students. The CoE will also leverage the expertise amongst the faculty of IISc and other Institute and industry experts in Karnataka for conducting specialized courses on below topic of cyber security.
- Faculty Development Programme: The CoE will continue its faculty trainings for faculty of undergraduate and post-graduate courses, as well as for diploma courses. We have noticed that the faculty in academia do not have much interaction with the industry. So even those faculty that undergo our trainings are not able to practice the skills that they acquire during the trainings. Hence, in addition to the faculty trainings, we intend to address this gap by providing an opportunity for faculty to do consultation work in addition to their teaching role. CySecK will roll out an intensive training-cum certification programme for 20 select faculty each year to train them on deep cyber security skills and facilitate them to be able to provide consultation for industry and Government offices in their local area.
- Virtual Cyber Range: A state-of-the-art virtual cyber range will be set up for strengthening practical skills amongst students of cyber security training programmes and to provide them an opportunity to conduct hands-on exercises when getting trained on industry-specific skills on cyber security. The cloud-based cyber security lab could be made available to students from across the state.
- Massive Open Online Courses: The CoE will develop high-quality, recorded courses on various topics of cyber security that could be made available through online MOOC platforms for skilling at large scale. Certifications will be provided to those who successfully complete these courses.
- Internships: The CoE will facilitate internships for those who have participated in the trainings conducted by the Centre. A platform will be established to connect participants of these training programmes with local start-ups and companies, leveraging the subsidy scheme offered through the policy.
- Security training in vocational training courses: The existing technical training in vocational training courses will be supplemented with training on secure practices that the technicians need to be aware of when implementing technology solutions. These will be conducted by training the trainers of these courses. Such augmentation will provide awareness of security best practices to the practitioners so that these can be followed when they deploy technology solutions.
